In a book proudly celebrating singleness in a "couples world", Harold Smith suggests 51 specific ways to live a richer and more satisfying life as a single person. He offers biblical teaching on taking advantage of every opportunity for happiness.

As a single woman herself, Mary Whelchel is familiar with the pitfalls that ensnare single people. She understands how frustrations, desires, and longings can lead to mistakes and offers practical, biblical solutions.
God's Call to the Single Adult
By Michael Cavanaugh
The book made me cry time and again as I recognized my selfish attitudes about my singleness. I now realize that being single is a unique opportunity to get to know God better, free from distractions. And for those of you who, like me, thought it was a book for people who expect to remain single for the rest of their lives, it is not. But it will help you to be content, whatever your situation. It will help you to realize what God's purpose is for your life, and it will bring you peace and joy and hope for the future.

If Singleness Is a Gift, What's the Return Policy?
By Holly Virden and Michelle McKinney Hammond
When it comes to singleness, Holly Virden and Michelle McKinney Hammond have been there, done that. These two amazing women don’t regard the single life as a cross to bear, but rather an amazing opportunity to take advantage of all life has to offer and to discover their God-ordained purpose. While acknowledging the pitfalls singles sometimes face, they celebrate the advantages that also come with singleness and validate it as a true gift from God.
Joyfully Single in a Couples' World: Contentment in life is more than finding the right person but being the right person. Joyfully Single helps those who are unmarried to come to grips with life as it is and to find fulfillment "as is" instead of waiting for the right person to come along or to be involved in sexual relationships which leave you frustrated, lonely, and hurting.

Its practical counsel and friendly tone will guide single women to balanced, godly lives.
Living Alone By Herbert Anderson, Freda A. Gardner
Can one live alone and be whole? The authors of this book are clear that the answer is "yes". It is how we live our lives and not whether we live them with another person that matters most to God. Here is a practical and wise guide for those alone in life.
Living Whole Without a Better Half By Wendy Widder
Wendy Widder blends the experiences of singleness and the truths of God's Word with a sense of humor to proclaim God's promises of an abundant life -- with no marital strings attached! Bombarded by the good intentions of others, singles sometimes find themselves in a mad pursuit to find their "better half" instead of living the whole life God intended for all of His children. Their obsession to lose the "single" label may rob them of His richest gifts. Retracing the steps of Bible characters such as Abraham, Moses, and Jacob, who all tried to reason and bargain with God, Widder shows us how to look at the single life through a fresh perspective -- God's view of an incredible opportunity. One Like Jesus: By Debra K. Farrington, Alan Jones
Being single doesn't come naturally to many people, yet almost half of adult Americans are single today. Whether single by choice, through divorce, or due to the death of a spouse, many adults find themselves on a road that has very few street signs. In ONE LIKE JESUS Debra Farrington offers a map for the journey in a series of biblically based meditations that affirm the value of singlehood. Whether readers are or have been single for years or find themselves newly single, whether they are happy or unhappy in that state, ONE LIKE JESUS offers encouragement, support, and practical suggestions for leading a rich, full life.
Playing the Tuba at Midnight: By Roberta Rand
This book has been a real breath of fresh air. It is written with much humour, but covers some very real issues for singles. This is done with a great deal of common sense and includes issues for those of us living in the real world.
By Andrew Farmer
Can an unmarried Christian adult expect more than a life of coping, hoping, and minimal moping? Yes! Along with the challenges of singleness come priceless advantages. Your season of singleness can be one of great richness, focus, and fulfillment in God. Learn to live The Rich Single Life. This book's format is good for both small group use and personal devotions.
Single and Content: By Dana Anders, Chris Conti, Nathan Clement, Lana Trent
Can you really be single and content? While more than 45 percent of the U.S. adult population is single, most books written for singles focus on how to find a mate. Single and Content, instead, offers candid conversation about the authors' own lives as singles and intersperses first-hand stories gathered from Christian music artists such as Avalon, Rich Mullins, Heather Floyd from Point of Grace, and Jeff Frankenstein from the Newsboys, all addressing the issues of singleness. As you join in on the conversation, you'll gain perspectives from the advice of well-known commentators and authors such as Larry Burkett and Dennis Rainey. Whether dealing with such topics as eating habits, money decisions, or loneliness, Single and Content's candor will help you to appreciate and enjoy the life with which you've been blessed. See the book's official site at Single and Content.
By Jane Graver
The conversational prayer meditations are straight from the heart, honest and hopeful. They deal with the things you have to deal with--independence, parents, loneliness. Saturday nights, your birthday, work, new apartments, "Mr. Right", sex and intimacy. Best of all, each meditation is based on Scripture.
Single Purpose: By H. Norman Wright
Single Purpose, a one-of-a-kind devotional written especially for single men and women, reminds you that while you may be single, you're not alone. Amid the stress and pressures of life, this book will give you a moment to draw on the strength of the Lord.
The Single Truth: By Lori Smith
Approximately 50 percent of American adults are single. Many of them don’t feel as though they fit in at church. Some wonder what they did wrong to miss the person they were supposed to marry. If they’re divorced, they may carry a burden of guilt and lies. They’re lonely, and many believe they’ve missed God’s greatest blessing for their lives. They want to be content but don’t think it’s possible. For some, singleness means fear, grief, and jealousy. Singled Out for Him: By Nancy Leigh DeMoss
Nancy Leigh DeMoss does not view singleness as a misfortune to be dreaded or resented, but rather, in the will of God, as a wonderful gift to be received with gratitude. She believes that the key to experiencing joy and fullness as a single is to discover and embrace the unique plan and calling of God. Singles Ask: This book has been a real breath of fresh air. It is written with much humour, but covers some very real issues for singles. This is done with a great deal of common sense and includes issues for those of us living in the real world.
Singles at the Crossroads: By Albert Y. Hsu
Nearly half of today's adult population is unmarried. But most churches emphasize marriage and family, leaving many Christian singles feeling like marginalized, second-class citizens. Many suspect they would be more acceptable to the church--and God--if they "settled down" and got married. Albert Hsu challenges this point of view. Christian singles need neither more how-to books for meeting the perfect mate nor trite advice on suffering through the single life. What is lacking is a truly Christian understanding of singleness--what it means to be single and Christian. Hsu suggests that a balanced, biblical view is one that honors singleness as a status equal to marriage. Ultimately, singleness is not a problem to be solved by marriage; like marriage, it is an opportunity in which to follow Jesus. Singles at the Crossroads points the way to a Christian community where all members are valued: Jew and Gentile, slave and free, male and female--and married and single.
Singling: A New Way to Live the Single Life
By John R. Landgraf
For a change, a book that addresses the real needs and situations of singles today. Quite a few testimonials and singles' stories are interspersed with the advice, some of which are very funny just on their own merits.
I found especially helpful the advice on dealing with parents and on sexual issues. The author does not take a backwards, unrealistic view; rather proposes intelligent, thoughtful, open-minded Christian solutions. A Godsend, this title.
